Conditions that Cause Ear Pain

The most common causes of ear pain are due to infections of the ear, and treatment for this is relatively simple to initiate. Patients who have ear pain without an obvious cause seen in the ear require full investigation. The ear is actually a point where several different nerves pass through. This means that ear pain can come from almost anywhere in the head and neck. The most worrying causes are due to cancers of the throat and this needs to be ruled out with an examination of the throat and a scan.

A full examination and investigation is required, and this can normally be done on the NHS. Explaining the situation to your GP and your ENT surgeon will mean that these tests can be done on the NHS.

Contact Mr Vik Veer - ENT Doctor - if you would like to book an appointment rather than use the NHS route.
